Bobrovsky Shines as Panthers Dominate Oilers

Rodrigues Scores Twice in 4-1 Victory

The Florida Panthers have taken an early lead in the Stanley Cup Final, defeating the Edmonton Oilers 4-1 in Game 1 on Friday night. Evan Rodrigues led the way with two goals, while Sergei Bobrovsky was outstanding in net with 18 saves.

The Oilers got off to a strong start, but the Panthers took control of the game in the second period. Rodrigues scored his first goal just over five minutes into the period, and the Panthers added two more goals before the end of the frame. Edmonton managed to get one back in the third period, but Rodrigues sealed the victory with an empty-net goal.

Bobrovsky was solid throughout the game, stopping all but one of the 19 shots he faced. He has now allowed just two goals in the past three games and has a save percentage of .955 in the playoffs.

Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final will be played on Sunday night in Edmonton.
